Course Overview

Supporting a child or young person who accesses learning through touch requires more than teaching braille. It requires an understanding of tactile development, concept learning and meaningful access to the curriculum.

The Online Braille and Tactile Learner’s Course is a practical training programme for QTVIs, specialist teachers of vision impairment, teachers, teaching assistants and other professionals supporting children and young people with vision impairment.

The course explores how tactile skills develop and how pre-braille and braille learning can be embedded naturally within everyday classroom experiences.
